Customer Service/Sales Manager

Position Title: Customer Service/Sales Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: This position reports to the General Manager, or other manager as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This position is a management position requiring proven expertise in the following areas:

  • Proven expertise and positive results in developing new business through expanding existing accounts and acquiring new accounts.
  • Proven expertise in developing sales/marketing programs to increase revenues and margins.
  • Proven expertise in preparing project plans including budgets, timelines, assignments, and resources. Ability to manage plans to budget with specified results is required.
  • Proven expertise managing and/or developing customer service/customer retention services.
  • Ability to generate consistent results while working with multiple priorities and demands.
  • Ability to generate positive and consistent results within the department including (but not limited to) customer retention, customer satisfaction, expanding sales to existing customers, acquiring new customers, resolving customer problems, and managing external customer events including annual meeting.
  • Ability to work as part of a highly functional management team to provide strategic and tactical guidance for the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing or other related field OR equivalent experience.
  2. Proven results in sales, marketing and/or customer service with focus on customer retention and acquisition.
  3. Minimum two years’ experience actively managing team including hiring/firing, reviewing performance, setting goals and priorities, achieving stated results, and motivating/inspiring excellence.
  4. Outstanding communication skills including ability to speak and write English in an effective and compelling manner.
  5. Ability to use Microsoft-based computer for normal business tasks including using the computer, connecting to network shares, using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel required, Access, PowerPoint desirable), ability to use email application (Microsoft Outlook) including email, calendaring, and contacts.
  6. Ability to work with a diverse workforce in an effective and inclusive manner.
  7. Strong understanding of database applications, ability to use Microsoft Access to create queries, tables and generate reports.
  8. Strong understanding of Internet including the use of web-based applications, search engines, web forms, e-commerce, and other Internet-related functions.
  9. Desire to participate in the strategic direction of the company including visioning, leadership and creating new opportunities in response to changing market conditions.
  10. Experience with or interest in natural and organic foods and products.
  11. Strong experience in marketing or sales of natural and organic products.
  12. Understanding of natural foods market in U.S. , historical and current issues.
