ShopNatural is a democratic organization controlled by the owners. Owners have equal voting rights (one owner, one vote) and elected representatives are accountable to the owners.

3rd Principle: Owner Economic Participation
Through one's purchases, an owner receives goods and services as well as providing capital to fund the work of the organization.

4th Principle: Independence
ShopNatural is an independent organization. If ShopNatural enters into agreements with other entities or raises capital from external sources, ShopNatural does so on terms that ensure democratic control by the owners.

5th Principle: Education, Training and Information
ShopNatural provides education, training and information about the nature and benefits of cooperation.

6th Principle: Cooperation Among Cooperatives
ShopNatural serves its owners most effectively by working together with other cooperatives.

7th Principle: Concern for Community
